Hahn celebrates five years with Heartland

Behind every successful business is a brilliant administrative team. Efficient and organized, these professionals manage schedules, projects, budgets and more.

Working behind the scenes, Executive Assistant Katie Hahn is the glue that keeps Heartland together.

“Katie is a key to our success every day,” said Heartland CEO Russell Olson. “She is reliable, flexible and organized, and keeps our operations running smoothly. She also has an infectious positive energy that keeps things light in the office. We are lucky to have her.”

Hahn recently marked five years with Heartland. She joined the business in 2016 after nearly a decade of teaching elementary education.

“I was excited for the challenge to start a new career in a field completely unknown to me,” she said. “I don’t regret the switch. I really enjoy the environment at Heartland and the staff. We work well together and I appreciate the time set aside for us to participate in activities and events together.”

Hahn provides administrative support to Olson as well as to the Heartland Board of Directors and staff. She handles information requests, arranges travel and performs clerical duties and other tasks as needed. Her list of responsibilities has grown during her tenure, which she welcomes.

“I like to keep busy and learn new things, so I haven’t minded the change,” she said.

Hahn is a Madison native. She graduated from Dakota State University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She later obtained a Master’s degree in Education from Northern State University.

She lives on an acreage outside Madison with her husband, Chris, and their two sons Cohen and Boyd. In her free time she enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, playing intramural sports and cheering on Cohen at his many athletic competitions.

Congratulations Katie!
