Electric Vehicle Types

Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)

These vehicles have no gasoline engine and get all energy from a chargeable battery. BEVs have zero emissions and range between 75-405 miles per charge.

Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV)

These vehicles are gasoline powered that emit lower pollutants than traditional gasoline cars. They also have both an electric motor and gasoline engine.

Plug-In Electric Vehicle (PHEV)

These vehicles have both a gasoline tank and a charging port to recharge an electric battery. The average range is 10-40 miles per charge.

EV stations can be found in public areas, homes and gas stations. It’s convenient for travel and day-to-day commutes and with zero emissions produced from BEVs, installing an EV charging station in your home is better for the environment and also allows the opportunity to receive a rebate or incentive. Speaking of costs, charging EVs costs an average of 35 percent less than filling up a traditional gasoline tank.
