Operations Summer Intern 2023

Heartland Energy is seeking applications for an Operations Summer Intern. The successful candidate will work directly with our Operations team, having the opportunity to advance their knowledge and gain experience working in the wholesale power industry. The Operations Summer Intern project will be to analyze and report on the impacts that bitcoin mining operations has on public utilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program in electrical engineering, math, computer engineering or computer science or another related field. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Graduation date between December 2023 and May 2025. Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and an interest in the Power Industry. A record of team project and/or people leadership skills along with the willingness to take initiative, meet deadlines, and understand the business. Effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact well with others is essential. A strong commitment to excellence and to personal and professional growth. A valid driver’s license is required.

This paid internship is a summer position, typically May–August, with a 40 hour-per-week work schedule. Travel may be required. Actual start and end time of the internship is negotiable depending on school schedule. Work hours may vary, but will generally be during the regular office hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
