Valley FiberCom breaks ground in Volga

Established telecom will serve the community

Valley Communications Inc., doing business as Valley FiberCom, has officially broke ground on the new Valley FiberCom state-of-the-art customer service center located at 209 Kasan Ave in Volga.

The groundbreaking ceremony, held Friday, August 31 at the construction site, included a short program featuring comments by Jameson Berreth, Volga City Administrator; Valley FiberCom GM/CEO Jeff Symens; Nikki Gronli of SDN Communications; and Volga City Mayor Randy Santema. Following the ceremonial ground breaking, a reception was held at the Volga Community Center.

Valley FiberCom plans to bring ultra-high-speed Internet access, as well as digital television and telephone service to homes and businesses in Volga. Clark Drew Construction of Brookings is the general contractor for the building project designed by Co-Op Architecture of Aberdeen and Sioux Falls, SD.

“If all goes according to plan, Valley FiberCom’s building will be completed in January of 2019 and we hope to begin fiber plant construction in the first or second quarter of 2019, weather permitting,” said Symens.

Symens also added, “We look forward to becoming a partner in the Volga community that is committed to providing reliable and excellent services at an affordable price.”
