Heartland welcomes new administrative assistant
June 1, 2016Heartland is pleased to welcome Katie Hahn as administrative assistant. She succeeds Kathie Lewis, who will retire June 6 after 39 years of service.
“I am excited for this wonderful opportunity to join Heartland,” said Katie. “I look forward to learning all the new tasks required of my position and meeting new people.”
Katie previously spent eight years teaching elementary school at Madison Central School District in Madison, SD and Oldham-Ramona School in Ramona, SD. She also worked as a certification assistant for Be Online in Madison for seven years.
“Katie is a perfect fit for Heartland. Her experience in education means she’s highly organized and has strong communication skills,” said CEO Russell Olson. “She is a quick learner and we are excited about the expertise she brings to the job.”
Katie is a 2009 graduate of Dakota State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She recently earned her Master’s degree in Education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. While teaching she was a member of several Madison Elementary School committees, including Technology, Reading Curriculum and Health and Wellness.
Katie currently resides in her hometown of Madison with her husband, Chris and their son, Cohen. In her free time she enjoys camping and spending time outdoors. She also participates in city intramural sports year-round and is a member of the Madison Country Club.
