Heartland Energy at DownTown in MadTown

Heartland Energy once again teamed up with Dakota State University to be host sponsors for an evening at DownTown in MadTown. Throughout July and August, the weekly summer concert series brought large crowds to Madison’s Egan Avenue for food, fun and entertainment.

DownTown in MadTown is organized by the Greater Madison Area Chamber of Commerce (GMACC) and the Lake Area Improvement Corporation. Although Heartland Energy and DSU were the premier sponsors for all six events, they were also the featured sponsors on August 16.

That night, Heartland and DSU staff handed out branded koozies, fans and swag bags to guests. Featured band Dueling Duo, a dueling piano group based in Sioux Falls, provided entertainment.

Themed “National Guard Night,” the event offered guests a chance to explore a training simulator, mock command center, vehicles and other large equipment from the Army National Guard.

The night was highlighted by a patriotic flyover by three local pilots, who flew in formation with smoke trails. According to the GMACC, the flyover was planned to honor members of the 211th Engineer Company of the SD Army National Guard.
