Heartland board recognizes Lewis

At their May meeting, the Heartland board of directors recognized Executive Assistant Kathie Lewis for her outstanding years of service and upcoming retirement. Board Chairman Merlin VanWalleghen presented Lewis with Resolution No. 2016-01, below, after which the entire board and staff present gave her a standing ovation.

RESOLUTION NO. 2016-01

            WHEREAS, Kathie Lewis began employment with Heartland Consumers Power District in 1977 as secretary and has served continuously thereafter for 39 years; and

WHEREAS, Kathie Lewis currently stands as Heartland’s longest serving employee, has worked for six different general managers and CEOs, under three different job titles and in three different office buildings; and

            WHEREAS, Kathie Lewis is retiring from her position as Executive Assistant and has served faithfully and loyally during her tenure as a Heartland employee;

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of Heartland Consumers Power District, at its regular meeting held this 10th day of May 2016, that Kathie Lewis be extended the utmost thanks from this Board, on behalf of the District, for her exemplary and outstanding service to Heartland, as an employee, in assisting the District to the success it knows through meeting its obligations as a supplier of low-cost wholesale electric power and energy.

May’s meeting was the final of Kathie’s career at Heartland. She will retire June 6 after 39 years of service.
