Free APPA webinar will help all employees recognize and respond to cyber threats

Cybersecurity isn’t just an Information Technology issue.

Every utility employee plays a role in protecting their organization from cyber threats.

A free webinar from American Public Power Association is designed to help employees without a cybersecurity or technical background prepare for threats they may encounter in their everyday work.

“Cybersecurity for Non-Cyber People: What Every Utility Employee Needs to Know” will cover common cyberattacks and data breaches, warning signs to watch for, and what to do when something doesn’t seem right.

The two-hour webinar will be held October 8 at 1:00 p.m. It’s a chance for employees across your utility—not just IT staff—to learn practical ways to help protect the organization.

What You’ll Learn: Real-world cyberattacks and data breaches affecting utilities. The training will also cover common cyber threats and practical ways employees can reduce risk and respond when something seems suspicious.
