Heartland’s 2026 Summer Conference returns to Elmwood Golf Course

Elmwood Golf Course in Sioux Falls, SD is preparing for an exciting new chapter.

In anticipation of it’s 100th birthday, the course recently constructed a new clubhouse to better accommodate tournaments and group events.

The 10,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art clubhouse features a modern bar and lounge, expanded patio and banquet capacity, updated dining options and improved hospitality areas.

Heartland Energy is excited to host our annual Summer Conference in Elmwood’s new space on July 28.

The clubhouse will also be home to the South Dakota Golf Hall of Fame. A dedicated space for First Tee youth programs and a new cart storage building were also added.

The cart garage is equipped to handle a fleet of all-electric golf carts. The carts are efficient, quiet, and branded with Heartland Energy’s logo.

A city-owned course, Elmwood is served by Sioux Falls Light and Power, a Heartland Energy customer. The carts are a small but visible reminder of the role public power plays in supporting community spaces and electrification.

Heartland previously gathered at Elmwood in 2018 and 2019, and we’re excited to return to a setting that supports connection and conversation in our customer community of Sioux Falls.

The Summer Conference is an important tradition that brings together community leaders, economic development officials and legislators for learning and relationship-building.

With Elmwood’s recent improvements, this year’s event will offer a trusted location with a fresh new look.

More details on the conference will be available soon.
