Jace Christensen named Student of the Month

For his outstanding character and leadership qualities, Sioux Valley High School (SVHS) senior Jace Christensen has been named Student of the Month by Heartland Energy and KJAM Radio.
Christensen is known as an exemplary student who leads with empathy and thoughtfulness. In nominating him for the award, SVHS staff said he embodies a remarkable blend of kindness, intelligence and drive.
Christensen’s resilience and steadfast dedication to academic and extracurricular pursuits showcase a maturity and commitment that inspires peers and educators alike. He elevates the standards of the school and sets an example for others to follow.
A multi-sport student athlete, Christensen participates in football, basketball and baseball. He’s also a past member of the golf team and qualified for state competition in 2020 and 2021.
He was nominated as a member of the 2023 Homecoming Court and is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Christensen is the son of Candie Christensen and Darin Christensen. After high school, he plans to study land surveying science technology at Southeast Technical College.
The “Student of the Month” is awarded through a partnership of Heartland Energy and KJAM Radio in Madison and recognizes exceptional students in one of five area school districts. Heartland Energy provides wholesale power to the cities of Arlington, Colman, Howard, Madison and Volga, all of which are in the KJAM listening area. Officials from each participating school nominate students for the award.
Each month of the school year, Heartland Energy presents an outstanding student from one of these schools with a recognition certificate and small token, and advertisements announcing the winning student air on KJAM Radio.
